Daniel Mahoney wants to monopolize trash services in Jackson, take away your right to choose your own provider, and destroy small businesses and jobs in the process!
They'll exaggerate minor benefits trying to make it sound like a good thing, but we all know that monopolies are NEVER good!!
Other cities that have switched to single-hauler systems have had corruption investigations, exposing the backroom deals and bribery that single-hauler systems are ripe for.
If Daniel Mahoney is elected and we switch to single-hauler, you cannot opt-out or change providers. You are forced to pay that company, even if they give you terrible service or jack up prices in the future!
Water rates have increased over 70% since 2016 along with a 16% scheduled 2023/24 increase.
When elected Mayor, I will work to roll back water rates to the lower rates we had in 2022.
Gang violence and the trafficking of illegal drugs and guns have a growing presence in Jackson.
These perpetrators are criminals, not victims. They need to be taken off the streets with an arrest, charge, conviction, and jail.
When elected Mayor, I will work to make our streets and neighborhoods safe for the families of Jackson.
Property Taxes and Assessments to fix our neighborhood streets are excessive. Citizens already struggling to afford everyday expenses are now receiving bills telling them they have 10 years to pay the city thousands and thousands of dollars because their street was resurfaced.
Homeowners should not have to pay an unreasonable amount just to have some work done on their street. City Council can, and should, lower all street assessments!
When elected Mayor, I will work to reduce the costs and financial burdens city residents are facing.
Your vote can help save small businesses, jobs, and your right to choose your own provider!
Vote for JOHN WILSON for Mayor on November 7th!
Alex Cole from A1 Waste, a small business that started here in Jackson, talks about how local businesses and jobs will be destroyed if Daniel Mahoney is elected and we switch to single-hauler.
John Wilson
Hi, my name is John Wilson and I'm passionate about serving the citizens of Jackson and solving the problems facing our city.
I was born and raised here in Jackson, graduated from Lumen Christi High School, Jackson College, and Western Michigan University. After many years of service to our state, I retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections and I now spend time working for my brother's small business here in the city, as well as teaching kids in grades K-12 as a substitute teacher with Edustaff.
Jackson is my home, and it's yours too. It's painful to see the city I love becoming less and less desirable of a place for people to live and start families because of the increasing gang violence, illegal drug use, and endless expenses forced onto the hardworking and retired taxpayers of Jackson.
The citizens of Jackson deserve better! When elected Mayor of Jackson, I will do everything I can to make our city safer and more affordable for everyone.
